A true visionary, Julie Hockney started her interior design business in her basement when her firstborn was eight weeks old and has grown it into a successful firm with 15 employees and a branch in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. When starting out, someone advised Julie she’d have to pick between residential and commercial design. (Never challenge a redhead!) The firm now handles residential, commercial and hospitality projects all over the Midwest and as far away as Chicago, Florida and California.
In 2022, Julie expanded the retail side of her business, The Studio by JH, into a beautiful space in Clocktower Village just east of Westroads Mall. Open weekdays from 10 to 5 (10 to 2 on Saturdays), The Studio is 2,000 square feet full of stunning furniture, art and accessories. This retail environment is located on the other side of Julie’s floral design business, Bouquet. All are connected on the inside so a patron is able to shop at The Studio and grab flowers at Bouquet.
