As one of five siblings, Carmie is comfortable in the chaos that can sometimes happen around an interior design studio. She actually started visiting JH Interior Design while she was getting her degree because Julie was her mentor. “Julie pushed me to keep pursuing interior design and finish school,” she said.
As a young homeowner, Carmie is easily inspired by what she’s exposed to at the studio. She manages the sample library, so she constantly sees fresh products coming in. She said sometimes a single tile, fabric or wallpaper is enough to spark a whole new idea for her house.
When she’s not at work, Carmie loves to cook (she dabbled in culinary school before interior design claimed her). In fact, one of her favorite weekly traditions is having dinner with the same group of friends. “We take turns cooking and always end the night with a game.”
What do you drink in the morning?
I am definitely an iced coffee drinker in the morning. My Nespresso helps with this obsession.
What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I’d love to say the surprising thing about me is having four siblings, but that one’s too easy. What usually shocks people is that I fell down a waterfall when I was eight years old! Luckily, I walked away without a scratch and it’s the reason I always win at Two Truths and a Lie!
